André Alvarez is a lawyer and Industrial Engineer with a technical background in electronics. He has over 21 years of experience in the industrial property practice. He worked for some of the major Brazilian IP firms in Brazil.
André took several courses in patent laws in international institutions and firms such as Franklin Pierce Law Center in the United States, Boehmert and Boehmert in Germany and ABDI/CLA (Current Itechlaw) in Argentina.
André is the coordinator of the Professional Training Course on Industrial Property offered by the Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents (ABAPI); co-coordinator of the Industrial design committee of the Brazilian Association of Intellectual Property (ABPI); Ex-member of the managing board of the ABPI; Member of the Ethics, Consulting and Advisory Board of ABAPI, the former Vice-chair of the working group of patents and industrial designs of ABAPI and a guest lecturer in several institutions (PUC, FGV, UCAM).
He was recognized as an IP Star by the Managing Intellectual Property magazine in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Elisa is a lawyer specialized in Intellectual Property since 1992. She graduated in law from Universidade Católica de Petropolis in 1988, earned a Master of Laws in International Law from Tulane University, Louisiana, USA in 1990, finishing her course with a thesis entitled "Arbitration in Brazil".
Shortly after returning from her LL.M., Elisa was hired to start her professional career at the renowned firm specialized in Intellectual Property. After nine years in this firm she still worked in other IP firms for 8 years. After all these years, she finally experienced what is known as in-house practice, having been hired by the Swiss multinational Syngenta as Intellectual Property Manager for Latin America – in São Paulo – where she remained for another year.
When she went back to Rio, she thought it was time to start her own IP boutique, what happened at the end of 2009.
Besides being an Intellectual Property Agent accredited by the Brazilian PTO, Elisa is a member of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association (ABPI), Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents (ABAPI), where she currently holds the position of Director-treasurer, and member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) having participated on the Regulatory Analysis, Geographical Indications and Courts & Tribunals committees.
For five years, Elisa has served as coordinator and professor of the IP Intermediate Course sponsored by ABAPI. Elisa was a lecturer in many events and has articles published in Brazil and abroad.
Finally, Elisa’s name is mentioned in the silver tier of the WTR 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals - representing Brazil as a reference among the 1000 attorneys of this area of law around the globe.

Paulo graduated in Law School at Faculdade Nacional de Direito of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, with post-graduation in Civil Procedure at Escola de Magistratura do Estado do Rio de Janeiro - EMERJ. He also took the basic training course in Industrial Property and the Advanced Course in International Treaties offered by the Brazilian Association of Industrial Property Agents – ABAPI, from which he graduated in 2013.
Paulo started getting involved in Intellectual Property matters in the beginning of 2011, having practiced IP litigation and trademark prosecution at a very big Brazilian law firm before he joined Santucci & Alvarez Law firm. Despite his young age, Paulo has a great knowledge in the IP field and a very promising career.
